It's always a favorite moment coming home to realize that there is a big package waiting for you to open... because that is what happened to me today. My 1981 My Melody sanrio plexiglass display came today and I'm loving it already. I'm already making plans to have it hanged on one of my bedroom walls, but first I have to choose a perfect spot.

Vintage Sanrio Stickers

You know what I miss? Vintage sanrio stickers. Sanrio had better designed stickers back then and it was far more appealing than stickers currently selling in stores. One thing I noticed about Sanrio is that they went cheap when they made the "sack" stickers... where did their creativity go?
As you can tell I really dislike those sticker sacks that sanrio has been selling for the past 7-9 years. It's like Sanrio is lazy and would rather not make any kind of effort to create very cute and quality stickers like in the 80-90's period. So obvious hint to my HK buddies & friends: don't ever get me sticker sacks from sanrio... yuck

Here are some random vintage stickers that I adore so much:

End of March Purchases

I've been smiling ever since Saturday afternoon when I received these spiral notebooks (in the mail) from a great Hawaii sanrio collector...
picture provided thru e-bay

I have a small drawstring bag of this design as well

Plus, another reason I can't stop smiling is because I finally completed all the details on a big yet sweet Sanrio purchase that I hinted about a few weeks ago... hehe. I know you probably can't hear me, but I'm shouting my joy here at my cozy home.

Remember this post? (the last part)

Three New Items Added to Store

Ok, I must admit that trying to maintain an online store is really hard to do if you have a hard time letting go of some sentimental value that I have placed on my collection.

Luckily, I found a few items to sell.  ;0)

.:: Junolyn's Store Update ::.
Up for sale is a 2006 Pochacco (Teenager size?) Backpack with sling. I bought it at the sanrio store because I loved the color and the whole design concept - plus, it didn't scream little kiddies backpack. It was something that I would have used, but never did.

Love this Pochacco design

Next up is a 2005 Keroppi Magnetic Photo Frame. It's brand new and has never been used, but cardboard box that comes with it is a little bit worn out at the edges due to years of storage. Sorry for only giving picture from the box. Got too lazy to take it out of it's inside wrapping contents (plastic + white holders)... but if you insist, give me a shout out. I bought this at a sanrio store in 2005 because it was so darn adorable. Especially since Keroppi is in his classic red and white stripe outfit. I love that Keroppi design classic look.

I really wanted to use this, but I can't keep everything.

Lastly, I have added a 2005 My Melody Towel cloth that was made by Vivitix, but sold through the Momoberry store back when it was still open in Los Angeles. This is my double copy that I am selling off, so I'm using my internet name watermark on this picture.

If you would like more details regarding any of the pieces above, please visit my store's link on the left side.

New Pens @ USA Sanrio's Online Website

Sanrio.com has added more new items to their website. I have selected these particular pens (below) for my review.

My Sanrio Rating:
I like the top part but the design on the main body of the pen, not so much.

My Sanrio Rating:
I like the body design more than the Hello Kitty version.

My Sanrio Rating:  1/2
It's not a horrible design, but it comes pretty close. Maybe I just dislike the mushroom design or the color combination

My Sanrio Rating:
I am not a fan of Charmmy, but I like the blue color on this pen.

My Sanrio Rating:  1/2
It nearly works here. I think they messed up by adding the plaid background with a heart shape design

Conclusion:
These pens are not horrible in design, but they still do not measure up to vintage pieces.
There is a new Hello Kitty spiral letter sets as shown below:

My Sanrio Rating:
You can get it here for $7 USD

 Description:

Holographic polka dot cover design and sticker sheet with Hello Kitty on a prancing carousel.

 And there's a new 7 inch plush...

My Sanrio Rating:
This Sunny plushie doesn't make my heart go "ba-bump." Is it the outfit? Maybe.

Review of Past Sanrio Hello Kitty Series Design

There are so many Hello Kitty designs made, but I decided to tackle some of the good designs from the past that stood out or was still a classic to us collectors who love collecting vintage stuff.

1974

My Sanrio Rating:

Classic HK version will always makes us appreciate the good old days.

1976

My Sanrio Rating:

There's nothing better than seeing Hello Kitty hard at work!

I will always love the blue jumpsuit she has on and her red classic bow accessory at her ear.

1977

My Sanrio Rating:

Hello Kitty shows us she can do anything if you put your mind to it.

1978

My Sanrio Rating:

I can't say this design is one of my favorites because it's not. I love vintage Hello Kitty, but here she looks out of place on bright neon colored dolphin.

1980

My Sanrio Rating:

There's something special about Hello Kitty's enthusiasm for whatever she sets out to do like playing tennis.

Here I just love her outfit. Simple and just with the right color scheme.

1982

My Sanrio Rating:

Maybe this was the first time we see her hugging her teddy bear doll?

I love how her bow accessory is now highlighted in white color. I definitely like the whole overrall color scheme plus the red background is great part of the design - it really draws your attention to HK

1988

My Sanrio Rating:

I never did like the black nose part of the design, but I can't deny that I love the red and black plaid design in the background, along with the gold colored text. I am still a sucker for the jumpsuit and stripe shirt design

My Sanrio Rating:

What can I say? I love the yellow teddy bear series as well. Something about this design works perfectly. Maybe I just love how there's two Hello Kittys in this design even though it's Mimmy right next to Hello Kitty

My Sanrio Rating:

I love this design very much. The bear designed with it's own bow accessory gave it the right touch of being so fabulously adorable... how can you not love this series design?!

My Sanrio Rating:

I grew up with this version and I still love it to this day. Long live Hello Kitty in a jumpsuit   ;0p

My Sanrio Rating:

There's nothing more enjoyable than seeing Hello Kitty and her teddy bear having a sweet time... plus maybe this is where I get fascinated with polka dots?

My Sanrio Rating:  1/2

I love the sundress and how sweet and innocent Hello Kitty looks

My Sanrio Rating:

What a sweet design. I love blue colored angel Hello Kitty, don't you?

My Sanrio Rating:

I think this was my favorite angel Hello Kitty versions in 2000

My Sanrio Rating:

I also came to love the pink version angel Hello Kitty. She was more 3D here. She looked great!

My Sanrio Rating:

I think it was one of those designs that I just didn't love or bother to muster to "like" status.

My Sanrio Rating:

I love the pink *Ribbon* version more than the red colored designs. They were simple and cute.

As you know there's so much more Hello Kitty designs to cover, but if you've been following my blogs, then you already know that I did not like the majority of HK designs over the past few years, except for Momoberry, but that's in a different category and untouchable...  hello? Do I have to remind you that Momoberry is the ultimate pink and quirky on it's own? Don't make me bring out my Momoberry bible out and remind you why we love her!

Have a Happy AND Great start of the week
