Hello Kitty Over Exposure?

While I love how Sanrio made Hello Kitty a superstar globally, but I do think that Sanrio has gone overboard with certain products and are just not meant to be sanrio products.

Take for instance, the Hello Kitty Wine bottles...

Call me crazy, but they look like a gimmick with the Hello Kitty brand pasted on wine that probably isn't up to fine standard for regular wine drinkers. As a sanrio addict, I'm quite embarrassed when people ask if I will buy the Hello Kitty wine because they know I love HK. I do love HK, but not to an extent that I need everything to have HK's face on every household product. My problem here is that I know Sanrio is not a wine maker business and I feel that Sanrio has become such a greedy, money hungry business that they'll paste Hello Kitty on any such product. From the look of their many many products, it's gone mass produced. In my thinking, mass produced doesn't necessarily mean good quality products that is worth your invested money.  Take a look below.

Do you seriously imagine that this Hello Kitty Vacuum Cleaner can stand up nicely next to a highly recommended Vacuum Cleaner (in stores like Best Buy) that's been around for many years? It just shows you how Sanrio can forsake the value of a product just to make a simple buck from the Hello Kitty obsession. The only ones who'd buy products like these are die-hard Hello Kitty stans. I can see this vacuum cleaner breaking faster or not doing such a good job of cleaning the carpet while compared to the expensive yet non-Hello Kitty vacuums that are worth every single penny of your money.

I just simply do not understand Sanrio.  Don't they care about their reputation as a company that deals with valued quality products, rather than selling cheap knock offs with a pasted Hello Kitty sticker?

C'mon, really???

Even said that, there are some products that work nicely to Sanrio's advantages:

Car Exhaust Pipe: who wouldn't want that on your car?!

^ The Hello Kitty Waffle Maker Iron is definitely a perfect fun cooking tool for Hello Kitty addicts. This doesn't require the best waffle/pancake maker to make fun Hello Kitty food. It's a Sanrio mass produced product that makes actual sense.

^  At least those male Hello Kitty fans can finally get some Sanrio products intended for their gender. Now, they don't have to hide those female Hello Kitty underwear... haha.

Set of Plushes and Umbrellas

Ok, I really hate using a MAC computer. UGH. Even though I strongly recommend PCs over Macs, I still want the newest, h-h-hottest tech gadget-- the iphone 4. Seriously, mine should arrive at my doorstep by today or tomorrow. Will definitely be on the lookout for the Hello Kitty bumper case and will report here pronto on the news and hopefully, where to buy one quick. Any sanrio addicts getting the iphone 4 and joining the hunt for sanrio bumpers?

Anyways, getting back to my dislike for Mac, I had to find a way to edit my pictures that I promised to post. Took me longer than I like, but I finally cropped the pics. Sorry about when you click them, it's very large. I'm just too impatient to find a solution to make the pics of appropriate size. At this moment, I'd give almost anything to get my PC back. (well, not my sanrio stuff, of course)

MOMOBERRY - All four sizes

More Momoberry Plushes, a set of three sizes to show as an example

Below is the Little Twins Stars umbrella...

Very up close and personal   :0)

And below is the My Melody's version. I didn't buy the HK version because I didn't like the whole design look of it, even though it is a cute mature adult umbrella.

Both umbrellas are pretty. The material of it is definitely $13 USD. If you were expecting quality material, the price of the umbrellas would have been more expensive. Are you getting yours soon? And if you did get one, which character did you buy?

New Items @ USA Sanrio

Ah, new stuff has arrived online in USA Sanrio's stores!

Here are My Top Picks for this Week

Let's start with this beautiful updated version of a Hello Kitty Die Cut Mirror Compact. As you can see, the difference between the older classic version is that this has a bejeweled hair ribbon embelishment.

My Sanrio Rating:  ♥♥ 3/4
Definitely have to go buy one! A *must have*

Hello Kitty Lens Case: Pastel

Hello Kitty Nail Clippers: Pastel

My Sanrio Rating:  ♥♥
New HK Mosaic 8" and 10" Plush

My Sanrio Rating:  ♥♥ 3/4

Now this is one sophisticated-looking Hello Kitty iphone 3G that Sanrio has created. Too bad it's made for the size of the older  version. I've been anxiously waiting for Sanrio to create *bumpers* or cases for the iphone 4. Like millions of others, I caved into getting the newest hot tech gadget obsession. Hopefully, Sanrio will not make us wait long for them to give us Sanrio bumpers. I wonder if we can get different characters like LTS or Keroppi versions.

Up for Rainy Days to Come?

Feels like I have just woken up from a long deep sleep, where I am rediscovering the excitement of wanting a Sanrio product. My obsession is definitely coming back slowly.

I haven't yet gone to visit a Sanrio store, but I have been browsing USA Sanrio's online store.  From what I saw of LTS and My Melody products, I was surprised there was more than two items that I was interested in. This 2010 Little Twin Stars Umbrella is definitely a *must have* because I can actually use this umbrella without being self concious about it being too childish for an adult. Definitely a plus for me. Take a look below. Don't you agree?

Darling isn't it?

I called up two of my local sanrio stores to see if I can skip the mailing fees and get it in person. Unfortunately, my local store at Hollywood ran out of the LTS *STAR* clear vinyl Umbrella. So, I tried my next local sanrio location and there must have been a mix up because I was told that they did have the LTS umbrella in stock and would reserve one for me. Since it was out of my way and near my brother's location, I had him go and pick it up. After coming back, I realized that he had came back with a My Melody version instead. It wasn't what I had wanted, but once I saw the design on the Umbrella, I had decided to keep it. I hadn't realized that there was a My Melody version because I didn't see it on USA Sanrio's official store. I'll post pictures of the umbrella next week along with the LTS version as well. The second sanrio store didn't have the LTS version, so I have already placed an order for it to arrive on my doorstep sometime next week. You will be surprised to learn that the umbrella only cost $13 USD. I thought it would be priced around $25 because Sanrio can be expensive.

Even though I couldn't find the My Melody version on the online store, there is a Hello Kitty *Strawberry* Umbrella

Definitely something that wouldn't embarrass an adult fan

2010 My Melody *Parasol* Series
Speaking of umbrellas, there is a new My Melody series coming out or at least is already available in Japan. Not sure if it will travel to the USA, but I already have plans to purchase the Jewelry Chest drawer box. It will definitely match my 2010 LTS chest version.

 Pretty isn't it?

Update

Thank you for all your patience, everyone!

Bad news first!
Finally came up with the dough to get my computer checked out to find out if it can be fixed or not. Final result is that my best bet is to invest in a new computer because mine is about 3-5 yrs. old. Took me a long while as many things have happened in life where my sanrio love got lost somewhere and it felt like my obsession was fading.

No fear, addicts, I'll get my sanrio mojo back as soon as I make a certain My Melody *Parasol* Chest Drawer Box purchase from a lovely Japanese seller. And, a trip to a local sanrio store should rejuvenate my obsession back to order. And, if all fails, I'll just go bug some Hello Kitty Junkies to remind me why they love Sanrio.    ;)

Good News
I'll be using my brother's apple computer to be blogging, but depending if I can get another temp job, I might be blogging at least twice a week instead of five times a week. But, I'll definitely keep my *Top Picks* going if you like my taste in sanrio items!   :0)

Also, bear with me as I try to adjust with using a mac computer because I am a pc user and will always be one, no matter how much my brother is trying to convert me into one. It's been a few months, but I still feel like I can't accomplish anything without my computer files that is stored on my external hard drive, which I can't access because I can't open it up with a mac. Plus, I don't want to convert my files into a mac version because I still intend to buy a new PC computer. Looks like my plans for junolyn website is on hold. It's one of the reasons why there's no updates.

p.s.
I did get the last two sizes of the black and white Momoberry plushes. I have the complete plush set size: S, M, L, and XL (huge one). I'll try to post pics later next week. I have to figure out how to work a mac version of adobe first. Do you think I made a crazy decision in getting all four sizes?
