I have finally found good Sanrio things to recommend! For two weeks, I really wondered if Sanrio would start to finally bring the *good* stuff. Unfortunately, Sanrio only did with the character, Chococat. Seriously, I am so tempted to go collect this stuff rather than wait on their Hello Kitty products.

For the stripe series, I think the whole design would have been so much better if they had made HK solid instead of stripes going through the character.

Now I'm going to recommend something other than my favorite five characters because this series from Chococat is very, VERY cuuuuuuute! If I were really open to obsessing on a new Sanrio character, this would tempt me so much.

What I love about this series is that Sanrio sure knows how to make Chococat look good! Look at that brilliant color scheme. It looks like a breath of  fresh air and all around clean design. No fuss. No clutter. No unnecessary distractions... just focusing on the basic character. No weird outfits or total different transformations. Just plain and simple.

Compared to the vintage pieces, this piece makes me want to cry. I'm waiting, Sanrio. Let me emphasis this, I've been waiting FOR YEARS for a good designed Hello Kitty two sided pencil case. You did right with My Melody, though not sure about Little Twin Stars. Wasn't sure if the LTS 2-sided case was a fake or not. That's how bad the design was for me to question the authenticity. 

Also, the 50th Anniversary Plushes are available.... here. I saw a close up picture of Keroppi-- does anyone agree with me that the plush looks funny? Hello Kitty looks good, but I'll have a final verdict once I see it in stores.

To celebrate Sanrio's 50th Anniversary, Sanrio is selling tote bags of favorite characters from the past. Whether or not these older characters are here to stay, most likely depends on the response of the consumers of which character is bought more. Hint to you addicts: buy the keroppi one more! 2nd choice: Pochacco!!!

** Keep in mind the totes cost $12 USD each- meaning the material isn't very good quality material that will last a long time. Heavy things = easily ripped.

New Hello Kitty Series *Tiny Chum*

Japan is coming out with a new Hello Kitty series that is called, " Hello Kitty and Tiny Chum."

Surprisingly, what is interesting about this new series design is that they have my favorite old vintage bear! And, it also appears that Hello Kitty has the shape of the old vintage 1970's form of face.

My Sanrio Rating:  ♥♥ 3/4

 I would love to L-O-V-E this new Hello Kitty series, but once again I think this series has won the *almost-had-it* award. This gets my stamp of "keep at it" stamp of approval. The whole design overall scheme looks good except for one small detail. That detail would be too many bears overcrowding Hello Kitty. On certain products, Hello Kitty looks squished or basically has no arms. I can understand the concept with having a lot of bears, but couldn't Sanrio have Hello Kitty and her tiny chum bears positioned better so it would look better? I guess I'm just not as impressed yet. Notice I said yet. There's hope for you, Sanrio.

^  Usually, I wouldn't recommend anything not related to Hello Kitty or a Sanrio character, but this Tiny Chum bear is too cute to pass up! Look at that polka dot bow accessory on top!

Gallery Update

When the new *Parasol* series started arriving from Japan, I was stunned on how pretty everything turned out for this My Melody series. All my doubts of regretting buying these purchases flew out of my mind, when I saw them in person.

Breakdown of the *Parasol* Series:

First thing, let's start off with the Notebooks. Seriously, this notebook and memo pad are very pretty in design. I was very surprised on how much I would love the notebook. The design on the notebook is so simple and very clean of clutter(artwork) that it works perfectly here with a few bird chicks and My Melody sitting in a pretty baby blue umbrella. But, then again, my favorite colors are pink and blue. Also, added that the umbrella is designed in white polka dots - *sigh* I'm definitely in love here.

This sticker is amazing! I purchased this one because it reminds me of the old classic stickers that have the right amount of good sized stickers instead of all tiny ones. As you can see, I had to have double copies.

Very Sweet

*Parasol* Glass Chalice 

This is one of those pieces that is just plain cute. It's not too tall like an average wine glass. It only measures up to 10.5 cm in height. Lately, I've been noticing that I have been accumulating sanrio glassware, mostly LTS.

^  Now all is left is waiting for a Hello Kitty drawer chest (unless they bring back Keroppi and Pochacco). First was LTS and now the latest is a My Melody version. I am hoping if Sanrio makes more of these drawer chests that they will include a mirror inside like the vintage classics.

Warning to you collectors: If you're not careful, this cardboard box will crease  or get smashed easily.
