Farewell, Hello Kitty World Game

Here's to another era of saying goodbye to another online Sanrio game.

There are very few Sanrio games out there that has made a connection to fans abroad. Does anyone remember playing an older online Hello Kitty game called: Hello Kitty Online?

Hello Kitty Online was the only other popular Hello Kitty game that comes to mind in recent years. A lot of fans played it regularly, but I stopped playing after the first try. In simple terms, I didn't like it. I felt that the game didn't clearly explain enough to a newbie, like me, of what the objectives were for Hello Kitty to accomplish. Sure, it gave pointers, but I remembered that I was mostly confused as to where I should lead HK to the next point. At the end, I lost interest and gave up trying to understand the game.

Then came, Hello Kitty World...

Hello Kitty World is not the same like Hello Kitty Online, which was a far better online game because it had a more detailed aspect to the game like social networking, combat, resource collecting, etc. It was a "real" game compared to a superficial mobile app game.

Another reason as to why I will have more respect for games outside of mobile apps. You can't accomplish much on mobile games.

That being said, Hello Kitty World was superficial, but it was the best mobile game that provided an artistic blueprint feature. Foremost, I love to blueprint decorate.

What better way to spend my free time with my favorite characters and to blueprint at the same time?

Starlight In Hello Kitty World

Hello Kitty Kingdom

In my previous posts about HKW, I had not completed my Hello Kitty Kingdom. It's completed with some minor changes. Instead of a church for future weddings, I decided to go a different route. I wanted to emphasize the apple theme by using an apple tree house with a Alice in Wonderland theme card maze. It worked out well, right?

Enchanted Forest of Starlight

Leaving off from My Melody's Lair of Leafs

When I first started Enchanted Forest, I wanted it be a bit more "crowded" - or realistically, from viewing at a far distance would look like in a somewhat alternative dimension. The swimmers would go to the left side of the map, where I deemed it as the sweet Merry Go Round area. It's a Downtown area, where you can fashionably shop and eat at a fancy restaurant.

The snow sliders would travel the right side of the map and be met with the beautiful sights of the Enchanted Forest. There are many garden type areas filled with edible candy flowers, big strawberry blooms, fantastical star shaped trees to purple crescent trees, and many more that invites you to hang out in the Forest's natural surroundings.

Within the Enchanted Forest, snow sliders can meet Chococat, sit with My Melody, have tea with Pompompurin, have a kawaii fantasy picnic under the Cherry Blossoms, visit the Sugarbunnies boutique, ride the hot air balloon with Mimmy, and lastly-- be entertained while dining with Hello Kitty or Cinnamoroll.

My Melody Kingdom

Before we hop to the next world of realms, I would like to show off My Melody's Kingdom. With this particular kingdom, you will find that I have placed strawberries as the main decorative theme. You can find all sorts of edible strawberry blooms to strawberry carriages that will take you all over My Melody Kingdom.

The visit starts off at the Pekkle cruise line ship letting their passengers off. You can get refreshed at the Pekkle stores and take a moment to enjoy the silver Hello Kitty tower, one of Starlight's famous landmarks. To the far left, the Pink Strawberry theme runs strong where it leads to the bridge of the Central Park. Central Park is where you enter Starlight through the main gate or through the Train Station or the small sized Airport.

As with Hello Kitty Kinddom, same rules apply to Central Park. All entrances into Starlight via the Airport, Train Station, and main gate are portals that you must carry magical tokens. Without these tokens, visitors would just exit to an ordinary park.

To the right of the My Melody Kingdom map, this will lead on a magical Strawberry Walkway, where your shoes will glow to keep you on the right path. The Strawberry Walkway is mapped out around the flowers that shape a giant My Melody head.

Along the way, you can stop by My Melody's mascot home to learn all the secrets about My Melody... for a price. Not real money, of course. The price is the depth of your love for My Melody. Only sole My Melody collectors are able to access the secrets within the mascot home. The price is that you can only love My Melody and no other. You would have to give up your love for other Sanrio characters. For My Melody and other Sanrio Characters, it's all or nothing if you want inside to their secrets.

If there are those who can only love Hello Kitty, then it would be the same for other characters to make the same request of devotion. Choose wisely as there are no take backs in Starlight. Nor regrets.

After making your decision, you have the option to cross the pink and white checkered bridge to Pochacco Kingdom or continue to My Melody's fancy restaurant that leads to the red Strawberry theme garden. From there, it leads to the Downtown area of MM Kingdom on the far left side.

To continue forward, you can choose to go to the next realm.
Taking the subway station takes you to Eternal Serenity Realm.

Eternal Serenity Realm of Starlight

In Eternal Serenity, it's about the beauty of peace. The beautiful nature of serenity is the main theme for this particular realm.

Temple of Eternal Serenity

Once the subway station leaves My Melody Kingdom, it speeds up in time and space. Along the journey, it transforms into a giant portal ship. Without your magical token, you cannot access this realm. Instead of exiting to an ordinary park. You will immediately disappear and transport back to Central Park.

Those who continue will gain access to the Temple. Stepping off the ship, you will note the weather. It's in the Fall season, where it starts to become cold. You can purchase warmer clothing along the way.

In the middle of the Temple, you can pay your respects to the mighty goddess shrine of Hello Kitty. The majestic beauty of Hello Kitty always captures one's attention for an unbelievable long time. This is one of Starlight's famous landmarks.

Isn't it breathtakingly beautiful?

Around the temple, you will find Hello Kitty in kimono robes. If you chat and show your love to Hello Kitty, then you will be shared a secret to the Temple.

Shh! The secret lies in the river tree Onsen. Bathe in it and you will age backwards. If you soak it in too long, there are consequences that you might not like. Soak under a minute is best recommended.

Taking the stone path on the far right continues your travel...

Shrine

You have entered the country side of the Shrine, which acts as a shield. The river banks acts as a protection from seekers wishing to do harm. Once entering the Shrine to the top right area, there is a festival happening. Children and adults can play with kites along with others who just want to enjoy the festival music under the Blossom Trees.

It has started to snow on and off, but the weather doesn't stop the festivities. There are many games and food to entertain the crowd. It's a time for a celebration.

Winter Wonderland of Starlight

It's like you have stepped into another whole new world. Blanketed in white, you are met with a wondrous sight. A beautiful white castle with a glass dome on top stands before you. It's like every magical fantasy come to life. Surrounding the castle lies pure magic. It almost appears like a dark river lake, but it's actually not a lake. It's magic that protects good from evil. Evil cannot enter here.

Beyond the castle, lives a breathtaking magical garden. The bride and groom come alive once every year on Christmas day. They dance. They love. They celebrate life.

From the white castle leads to a time travel futuristic portal. A long path that leads to a darker space in time. It's as if you were floating instead of walking on frozen ice. The mists surrounds you as it gets darker and darker. There are shimmering lights ahead that points to the way out.

The surrounding crystals are the source of energy that breathes life into the frozen beauty. Life that is suspended in time and age. The icy walls that surround the ice castles contain the purest white magic of space. Here lies another famous landmark. You can reach the stars from here. It may be beautiful, but it's magic can be deadly. It is said that you can be forever lost in time and never be able to come back.

If you are smart, you will have continued on to the Christmas Village. In the center of the Christmas festivities is a giant snow globe that generates the snow to be around everyday. Christmas is everywhere here. Christmas lights. Santa elves. Christmas trees. Christmas decorations. Christmas sleighs. Christmas reindeers. And within everything, a Chocolate cocoa river house. You can't have Christmas without some hot chocolate.

FaeLight

This area is where the fairies live. Kiki and Lala can be seen sprinkling pixie dust here and there. As fairies, they sure are super fast and intelligent. Nothing gets by them. Literally.

If they don't want you to continue forward your journey, they can forever keep you lost in the Hello Kitty maze. Make sure to greet them and stay on their good side.

Dolphin Cove

You have reached your final destination in your journey. Like most of Eternal Serenity, it is insanely beautiful here. The spirit animal here is a dolphin. Many gorgeous dolphins that habitat the surrounding area frolic about with utter joy. Keroppi is the Guardian healer. He maintains the beauty that we see at the Cove.

At the center of everything is an Ice Castle portal. Surrounded by water and tapped into a powerful source of energy, the Ice Castle can transport you to a secret dimension: the Underworld Sea.

Imagine an Underworld Sea where you can breathe naturally without dying. It is dark at the deepest corners, but magic fills the Sea. Magic glistens and shimmers on everything. It brings light to a very dark place. While floating in the Underworld, there are hidden cities. Among those cities, lies the heart of the Sea. An ice filled center brimming with a source of powerful glowing magic. This area is where the Guardians of the Underworld lives. They protect this magic and the beautiful life of the Sea.

Unfortunately, my story ends here as the mobile game app has reached it's expiration date. It was a good run while it lasted. I'm glad to be able to live my fantasies through blueprinting art. The power of imagination took me to places in my mind that I never knew existed. The mobile game will be missed, but never forgotten as I was able to share my Sanrio world with many others.

Starlight in Hello Kitty World: Enchanted Forest Teaser

Here is a follow up to my last update in the mobile app game, Hello Kitty World.

As time goes by, the game releases new items every month for players to store new decorations or use them to blueprint in their digital world. I have accumulated so much decorations over the years that I was finally making progress within my Starlight World.

Still Unfinished. A work in progress

Above picture is the breathtaking Enchanted Forest of Starlight. It is located right next to Hello Kitty Kingdom - beyond the magical Hello Kitty water fountain.

My story unfolds into another magic portal that greets you with a sign of Welcome. The first character to meet you in the Enchanted Forest is My Melody. She is the keymaster to the secrets of the forest. While it may not be her world, she takes her many jobs seriously. They all do. Sanrio characters love their job to entertain and bring joy to everyone.

Only with My Melody's permission will the secrets of the forest be revealed to you. After exiting through the My Melody's Lair of Leafs, a mysterious giant of chocolate cake appears before your very eyes. What a sight to behold because there are little Santa elfs maintaining the chocolate that is coursing down a path at the bottom of the hill.

One of the Santa elfs are dancing around and one elf indicates that to leave the area, you must slide down on what seems like a chocolate slide with marshmallows to help cushion you from falling sideways. As you are ready to slide down to the bottom of where a river of chocolate awaits you-- they make you sign a digital release form that states you know how to swim. As soon as the dotted line has been signed, they literally give you a push down the slide.

Whether you are ready or not, these Santa elves are not messing around.

For those who are curious as to what happens if the answer is opposite of knowing how to swim. Well, the very energetic and "helpful" elves will take you by your arms (both of them, mind you - they are in rush...) and escort you to a nearby Snow cake. And, yes, there is an icy slide with marshamallow rails. Once you slide down to the bottom, the soft covered snow will cushion your landing.

Even when you land to your new surroundings, you have little helpers waiting on standby to hurry you along on your journey. Residents who are able to swim go to the left of the map, whereas Snow sliders are guided to take the right side of the map.

To be continued onto next year. Still need more decorations to complete my Enchanted Forest. What will come next in my Starlight World?

Starlight in Hello Kitty World

Do you ever think what it is like to travel to another world?  A world that doesn't exist in your reality, but in your imagination.

I'd like to believe that we can have two worlds: reality vs. virtual world.

I have found my virtual world in Hello Kitty World -- well, for the time being until something better comes along...

As I continue playing Hello Kitty World game on my iPhone, I've thought a lot about my progress over the last 2.5+ years.  In this game, you had to have extreme patience because the series decorations are released every few months. It was worse waiting for more land space because that seemed like it was released every 6-12 months.

In the beginning, I just collected decorations without decorating and ultimately at the end, my patience has paid off. While I don't have everything blueprinted, I have made a lot of progress to be able to show off my Starlight world.

My beachside isn't fully ready to be shown off, but a part of it is blueprinted

Left side of Hello Kitty Kingdom. The top left is still unfinished

Right side of Hello Kitty Kingdom

When I was decorating, I didn't have everything all at once. It was bits and pieces that eventually, everything came into place. When one part doesn't seem right or fit with the scene that I was trying to create, then I would start over until I was satisfied with the outcome.

Before I introduce my virtual world to you--

Close your eyes and immerse yourself into your imagination. Reach deep inside yourself and open that door to my world. Now follow my words as I tell you my story...

Hello Kitty Kingdom in Starlight is my favorite park so far. It has the mysterious adventure aspect of Alice in Wonderland and the beauty of apples theme running throughout the park.

At the entrance to Hello Kitty Kingdom, it is protected by a garden portal. Without a magical token, you won't be able to enter Hello Kitty Kingdom. You would just enter the portal and exit to the other side and would see only an ordinary park.

Now, if you followed the rules and have a magical token in your possession, then you would have exited the portal to step into an enchanted land. As you step forward in astonishment, you will look down to see that your ordinary street clothes have changed. You have changed into a Hello Kitty themed Alice in Wonderland outfit with matching shoes.

Shoes that seem to glow as you step on a card deck. If you wander astray, your shoes will stop glowing, indicating that you are going the wrong way and off your course. It doesn't help that the backdrop of this wonderful world is filled with fascinating things. Things like a huge pocketwatch that ticks loudly as you pass by, flowers made out of candy, trees that whistle a tune when a breeze flitters by and overgrown giant size mushrooms that seem so unreal.

Did you touch it? Look, your shoes stopped glowing. Was it worth it? Yeah, I did it, too, when I first came to Starlight. Yup, that giant mushroom is real.

After following the card of deck road, you will be stopped by a gate check. Double security in Hello Kitty Kingdom. Past the gate, there will be a Hello Kitty booth that will give you a map to the kingdom. Time to choose your path...

To the right-- is a rest stop with a Alice In Wonderland restaurant with a matching theme garden. To the left, you will be invited to Hello Kitty's home and be a guest to a Hello Kitty theme wedding. The bride and groom? The favorite couple, of course! Dear Daniel and Hello Kitty.

And, when you get to the castle, time just stops in wonder. Literally, time stops. Inside the castle is filled with everything vintage classic of Hello Kitty. Treasures that fill every room. In the center of the castle is a big showroom fit for a Queen. A throne sits in the middle of the room that is only reserved for the royal kitty.

Once you have finished roaming the castle and step outside, time returns to normal. Surrounding the castle are beautiful landscapes of garden. Protecting the beautiful garden is a magical Hello Kitty fairy who only comes alive when danger is present.

After you reach the end of the tour, you would think that was it, but that's not all. Hello Kitty Kingdom doesn't just end here...

Psst... the adventure continues beyond the magical Hello Kitty water fountain. The path will lead you to another part of Starlight that promises more wonderful sights. But, that story is for another time because time is money. I have to go back to reality and earn money to buy more Hello Kitty stuff for my collection. Until then... meow

Hello Kitty Themed Party... for Adults

How to Throw a Hello Kitty Theme Party for Adults

Have you ever wanted to throw your very own Hello Kitty/Sanrio Theme Party, but didn't know how to go about it?

Well, here's a guide on how to throw one of the most memorable Hello Kitty Party Bashes for a large group of Sanrio lovers. And one way to go about it, is to plan everything from start to finish. Plan out every last detail that you can think of because you are not just planning a simple party, you are throwing the best Hello Kitty party in your sanrio community!

That, my addicts, is a #1 goal you need to justify to your sanrio enabler on why you're spending so much on party supplies and party services. Go all out for this party because it's not every day you can throw one this good! Remember do not invite any guests who have a strong dislike for Hello Kitty. It'd be a sure way of killing your party before it even has a chance to be a success. Some HK haters are just plain mood killers. You want all your guests to feel comfortable and happy at your HK theme party, so no party poopers invited.

One idea to have your party be more exciting is to have your guests come dressed as a Sanrio Character. Have a Best Sanrio Character Dress Up Contest. Plan ahead with a special Sanrio prize. And, don't forget to take a whole group picture for those who did show up dressed as a sanrio character. It'll make a lovely addition to your photo album!

INVITATIONS:

First things first, buy or create your Hello Kitty/Sanrio theme party invitations. After knowing the total number of guests to be invited, send out your invitation by mail with a little touch of something special added to the invitation. It can be a small charm, HK's red classic bow, or something related if it's centered around other than Hello Kitty. Make sure your invitations are eye catching. The invitation doesn't even have to be on paper... it can be handcrafted to make it even more special and a sure way to get a response right away.

FOOD:

Here's my TIP # 1 advice - hire a catering service
You really do not want to stress over a hot stove while the party is going on. To enjoy and get the full benefits as the hostess or host, you need to be where the party is at and not be in a closed area like the kitchen. Just make the catering service do all the work in creating Hello Kitty/Sanrio shaped food.

Make sure to have HK waffles served during the party

In order to keep your theme of the party going, example of foods that you *MUST* have at your party are HK/Sanrio character frosted cupcakes, Hello Kitty Waffle Maker Iron, and HK popsicles.

Also, have your catering servers make sanrio shaped character ice cubes well in advance to fill the guests' cup all through the party event. Since this is an adult party, have your servers serve cocktails or a non-alcohol virgin mary. If you really want to go all out, I suggest you buy a lot of classy looking HK cocktail glasses.

While the catering service is doing their job in planning the menu, it is your responsibility to cover the Hello Kitty/Sanrio party supplies like cups, plates, utensils, and other tableware. If you want to go all out classy, I recommend you go buy these type of table set:

Maybe a tea party at a dinner setting

DECOR:

"Create a balloon bouquet centerpiece – Fill a small empty jar with rocks and wrap it in pink paper or foil. This is going to be the weight for your balloons. Inflate a Hello Kitty Mylar Balloon, tie pink ribbon around the bottom of the balloon and attach the string securely to the weight. Now inflate five to ten plain pink and white balloons and repeat the process. As you tie them to the weight, make sure they are lower in height than the Mylar balloon and arrange them so the Mylar balloon is always in the center."

.::Centerpieces::.

For table centerpieces, you can set up any kind of flowery arrangement with a Hello Kitty or a Sanrio Character centerpiece. A suggestion would be to use fresh pale pink roses (or white flowers of any type will do) arranged beautifully around the centerpiece.

Next on the list are scented candles. You can create a beautiful setting with just candles and small greenery around it. Also, candles will lighten the mood with a soothing sensation. To help decorate these candles, you can use a chalice or some sort of Sanrio glass jar. An example would be like this:

After you have finished decorating the party, I like to take pictures before the guests start to arrive. Take photos of your party room decor and put them in your HK Party Album, so you can treasure the memories. In the future, your sanrio enabler might not let you throw another HK/Sanrio themed party after he/she sees the total cost of how much you have spent to plan this extravaganza show. Remember, that's why you have to go all out on this one!

BEGINNING OF PARTY:

When you greet guests at the door, make sure you have some sort of table nearby to hand out Hello Kitty/Sanrio party bags with party favor gifts inside.

.::Party Favor Ideas::.

  • Hello Kitty or Sanrio Character Candy Pez (with candy included)
  • HK wrapped candies filled into a shotglass (shotglass can be used in the party later)
  • HK, LTS, or MM fragrances (looks like nail polishes)
  • Home baked HK shaped-faced cookie gift wrapped in clear cellophane
  • Gift Basket: a sanrio drawstring bag or a stainless steel Mug filled with sanrio goodies (gift wrapped in clear cellophane for the mug option)
Before the guests joins the party, make sure to invite them to sign in your Sanrio Guestbook. This is one of those times that your small Sanrio book comes in handy!

Autograph book - Golden Memories collection

While the guests are waiting for the party to officially begin, have a friend or a server serve Hello Kitty (or other sanrio characters) shaped chocolates, HK wrapped candy(-ies), or Hello Kitty Lollipops (seen below).

Buy a couple of these and have HK popsicles frozen a day in advance

While the servers are busy serving special treats, another helper can entertain your guests with a Hello Kitty manicure.  Get someone who can do great Hello Kitty decals on those nails. An excellent suggestion would be to use this kind of Cosmetic stand. You can get one at Dream Kitty.

Just add another chair for the guest and you'll have a long queue

With your guests waiting in line, you can have one of the servers play the Hello Kitty guitar to entertain their ears off:

I found a site with good info on how to find this guitar

ACTIVITIES:

An option for the many activities that you can do first is the drinking game. Now, this is where the shot glasses come in. Whatever drinking game you decide to play, make sure to time it so that the game ends before one of your guests becomes drunk. For ones who easily gets snookered with just one sip, suggest a substitute to fill in their shot glass. With that out of the way, no guest will leave your party in a dangerous state because the hours will dwindle away the buzz of alcohol.

If you don't feel comfortable with a drinking game, here's another food/drinking option game:

TASTE BUDS
"Objective: What is it? Guess the mystery food or drink by using your Taste Buds!
Players: 4 or more
Materials: several different types of food or drink

Rules: Before the game starts prepare the different kinds of food or drink that the players will try. You may use different kinds of ice cream or desserts, or some spicy food for fun. For an adult party, try different types of alcoholic beverages mixed with pop or juice. This can be a multiple choice game if players are having trouble guessing the mystery food. To play, blindfold the player and give them the food or drink to try. Have them guess what it is. Are they right? For a baby shower try using baby food. Take the labels off and pass the jars around. Have everyone make their guess on a piece of paper. The person with the most correct wins! "

If you're looking for more of a challenging game, then how about Usaopoly Hello Kitty Monopoly?

Or if your guests don't feel like playing Monopoly, have card tables set up in advanced way before the party guests have arrived.

^ You can play a Memory game with a deck of cards if you wish. The goal of the game is to match up a card with the same matching card, until there is no more cards to play. The most with the pair of cards wins.

ANOTHER MEMORY GAME
"Objective: A Memory Game of trying to remember your surroundings when blindfolded.
Players: 4 or more
Materials: blindfold, a list of items to remember

Rules: Have the player have a good look around the party room and take in as many details as they can. Have them try to remember certain colors or where people are sitting or even what people are wearing. Then have that player leave the room and come back to the room blindfolded. Quiz the player about their surroundings and see what they remember. If they came with a partner, ask them questions about them or another specific individual. This could get interesting!"

For a more physical activity, here's a Scavenger Hunt.

Objective: A Scavenger Hunt is game where players find a hidden object.
Players: Group
Materials: hidden Sanrio treasures

Rules: This is fun game to play at any age, but it does take a little organization and planning. It can also be played inside for weather reasons. Depending on the age of the players, choose how difficult the challenges will be.
For this game, have the guests in an advance bring their own small 6" Sanrio plush with them. As hostess or host, you will gather these plushes and hide them away in one or more rooms. At the start of the game, let your guests know the boundaries of where all the plushes are located or any specific rules they need to know. When one guest finds a plush, they get to keep that specific one and take it home as a gift. You can add more bigger hints to the remaining few guests, who have a hard time finding the remaining plushes.

Here are more games to try: Sanrio charades, Sanrio Trivia (make your own rules), sing-along-with Hello Kitty karaoke, or have Hello Kitty movies playing on the t.v. for those who are not interested in the board games.

And lastly, have the best chosen Sanrio Character dressed Guest to do the honors of beating the sh*t out of this Hello Kitty pinata. Blindfolded, of course!

Birthday Express Hello Kitty 21" Pull-String Pinata - The pinata fillers are sold separately.

If you follow everything listed and planned out all the very last minute details, then you should have thrown a fun, fun Hello Kitty Themed Party!
