2016 Sanrio Robot Figurines

Once I had the 2013 white Hello Kitty Robot K set in my collection, I had to complete my robot fascination with this next set of series released in 2016.

What I liked about this set was that it features my three favorite Sanrio characters: Hello Kitty, Keroppi, and My Melody. Unfortunately, there is no other Sanrio characters other than Kuromi, Monkichi, and Badtz-Maru as seen above.

All the characters except Hello Kitty is wearing a futuristic type of robot outfit. It reminds of a space suit instead. Hello Kitty stands out from the rest as the virtual robot leader.

Hopefully, one day-- we can get more of a focused robot gear set of six figurines for characters like Pochacco, Pompompurin, Pippo, etc.

XOXO

Robot Kitty Set 2013

Recently, I have added something amazing to my Sanrio collection. This set is from an amazing Robot Kitty exhibition that took place in 2013 at Taiwan.

This set of series has been on my Wishlist for so long that I never thought I would be able to say that I have this set in my collection. Here me now: I am the proud owner of Robot Kitty series set from 2013 and I am in love with Hello Kitty all over again.

Yes, I know. I am in love with Hello Kitty many times already, but I never get tired of saying it -- because it's true.

 The Squad

My Fave

There was another Robot Kitty series set version but with a blue bottom instead of a white circular stand that was released in 2016. It was all identical to the six figurines, but that navy blue was not as great looking as this one above.

This type of robots only focused on Hello Kitty dressed up in different Robotic gear. I would have love to see the same series set, but focusing on Little Twin Stars, Pochacco, Keroppi, Tuxie, and more. There was another Sanrio Robots featuring Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Stars, Badtz-Maru, and Kuromi that was released as well in 2016, but this set had a different Robotic outfit. I believe it was a shorter version and much of a plainer version. Although, still cute.

As you can tell-- I love love Sanrio Robots. I have fallen once more onto the Sanrio Robot fever. I need more Robots of my favorite Sanrio characters!

Check out below and tell me you're with me going obsessed over Sanrio Robots, too!

Spectaclar Squad

Special Forces Unit

Did I brainwash you yet? I'm dying for more of these type of Robot figurines from Sanrio, but with different set of Sanrio characters like Little Twin Stars, Pochacco, Keroppi, Tuxie, etc

I am in a cloud of excitement because my Robot collection is growing with this new addition. I hope to add even more robots to my collection in the near future. Again, this Sanrio era is ahhhhh-mazing!

Long live to the designers of Robot Kitty. You guys rock!

Junolyn's Top 10 Hello Kitty Figurines

Figurines have always been a favorite type to collect, especially when it comes to Sanrio. With so many variety of figurines out there, I wanted to highlight the best of the best. There is something magical to see how much creativity is put into each figurine. As Collectors, we're lucky to witness this amazing era.

Below is a list of different types of figurine concepts that has been released to the general public. These are a must-have collectibles to add to your collection.

Junolyn's TOP 10 Figurines for Hello Kitty

1.   Kittypatra

Cr: WEB

Like the vintage classic Hello Kitty coin purse pouch, Tokidoki's Kittypatra figurine has become one of the most iconic collectibles in Hello Kitty history. It is the Holy Grail to any Collector's treasures. As a center piece to your Shrine, it will be a showstopper. Your visitors will be mesmerized with astonishment.

Thank you for sharing this incredible masterpiece with the fandom, Tokidoki and Sanrio.

2.   Robot Kitty SRI Labs

This figurine is definitely one of a kind and very unique. As a gaming device, it sets it apart from the rest of the figurines out there in the world. With the RFID chip embedded inside the device, you are able to partake in the Interactive Gaming Departments. You can earn "points" or "coins" to be able to redeem them for accessories like shown above.

You can dress your Robot in either black, white, or rose gold wings. There are silver or rose gold shoes for your robot, as well as helmets. There are a lot of fun combinations to play with your Robot, which makes it into the #2 spot on this list.

3.   Swarovski

Who wouldn't love Swarovski? As a high end decorative object, it stands out with crystals. Not just the usual porcelain or ceramic that we usually expect from figurines. This particular figurine has to be one of the most precious collectibles to be coveted. Just transporting it to anywhere would be worrisome to any Collector. It has to be handled with reverence like a crown is to a royal descendant.

4.   Nao by Lladro

Cr: Macys

Coming into our next spot on our list are figurines crafted from porcelain. These figurines remind me of Precious Moments because they are designed in a way of celebrating a moment in time. Made in Spain, they have become a favorite to collect in the Hello Kitty community. I haven't collected it all, but I can see how each figurine would be treasured forever.

Love it with care.

5.   HK Go Around

Please take a moment to appreciate the beauty here...

I have always thought that I have seen it all, heard it all, and appreciated it all. I was wrong. When these figurines came out, I was shocked. I thought Sanrio and their team of designers couldn't top the last adored collaboration release. I'm glad to be proven wrong. It's surreal to add these amazing treasures to my collection. I really, really, really, REALLY love this Hello Kitty era.

6.   Japan Figurine 2012

It's one of the most fragile Hello Kitty collectible to own. The dress is so very delicate that it can chip off easily if you don't take extreme caution. What can I say about this porcelain figurine? It is just simply beautiful. To me, there is no other word to better describe this figurine. Beautiful.

7.   HK x Mazinger Z Chogokin

From the manga collaboration through Bandai's Chogokin series, this special figurine is another showstopper. Constructed with metal alloy, the design is an eye pleaser. With the tiny Hello Kitty figure hidden inside, it makes other figurines look tame in comparison. There are times that I want something different and this one meets it.

8.   2014 Japan Figurine

It's the golden strawberry that did it for me.

I have a thing for beautiful gold tone decorative objects. It's not something that I usually get in my Sanrio figurines. I'm fascinated with the color and how it plays beautiful with the darker blue color. I'm so used to seeing a red Hello Kitty. White with blue and a hint of gold tone equals perfection for my aesthetic needs.

9.   Exclusive JANM by Precious Moments

Hand-painted of porcelain bisque, this unique signature figurine is modeled after a kokeshi doll likeness. It has a limited edition of 1200 pieces made. With the big red bow paired with short black hair, this figurine distinguishes itself from the rest of the pack. A keeper.

10.   HK Orchid Garden Cafe

Cr: Web

One of the first Hello Kitty figurine that was created to promote Singapore's Hello Kitty cafe. Is it the very first HK figurine from a cafe restaurant? Normally, I do not like too many bows  or clutter on top of Hello Kitty's head. The design for this figurine kept it at two, one bow being the larger size of the two. The bow being front and center-- carrying beautiful flowers are a kawaii factor on making it to this list.

I've reached the end of my list of favorite figurines. I am looking forward to adding even more figurines to my Sanrio collection. Isn't it wonderful?

Robot Kitty SRI Labs: Singapore Exhibition Pre-Orders

Ever since I heard about the first SRI Lab exhibit, I have always wanted to go to one. Unfortunately, I could not physically go there because they always took their tour exhibits around Asia. They had an exhibit in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Shanghai, and lastly-- Singapore.

The exhibit in Singapore is now over, but the collectibles from the event is just starting to spread the envy from those who cannot physically join in on the experience of a lifetime.

Robot K and Sanrio,
I beg you from the bottom of my heart. Please bring your very creative exhibition to Los Angeles. We really really and I do mean -- REALLY --- want to experience first hand of this exciting interactive SRI Lab Institute.

Sincerely,

a Sanrio Addict

Official Information from their Facebook:

Hello Kitty is going high-tech! Come 11 June 2016, Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre will be home to Robot Kitty Singapore, where avid fans can look forward to a quest in becoming engineers at the Sanrio Training Institute. After successful runs in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Shanghai, this invigorating showcase will be staged in Hall 403 for 11 days.

The focal highlights of this futuristic event lies within its 5 Interactive Gaming Departments, of which each of them not only serve as a photo attraction in itself, but are well equipped with unique individual missions for Kitty’s engineers-to-be to undertake.

With an aim for these engineers to be rewarded with interesting parts/accessories upon completion, the challenge whirls around accumulating points via each gaming department by using the Robot K. The redeemed parts/accessories can then be used to “dress up” the Robot K, much to the satisfaction of the engineers.

The 5 Interactive Gaming Departments are segregated into departments namely Design, Quality Control, Repair, Component and Energy being the final pit stop. Passing each of these departments will require engineers to perform tasks involving some quick coordination of the hands, sense of balance, accuracy and a bit of wit, all within a limited time frame. The Repair Department in particular, engineers will have to try their level best to revive the malfunctioned Robot K via a pair of defibrillators. A game manual will come in handy to guide the engineers through each interactive department, offering some heads-up and tips along the way. Be sure to keep a close lookout for the “Robot A” Check Points as these counters serves to display the engineers’ accumulated points, crucial to what they are able to redeem.

Venue: Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Hall 403

Date: 11 June to 21 June 2016

Time: 10am to 8pm

Ticketing Info:

Adults - S$28.00
Child/Senior Citizen - S$14.00

Pre-Orders

Below you will find that I was able to score some goodies from the latest exhibition in Singapore.

The Metal Binder
I am very much in love with this particular binder. The very fact that it is made of metal stands out from all the rest of the Robot Kitty merchandise. The design is very appealing to a Collector like me. The best feature is that the surface is not at all flat. I like the fact that this binder is not ordinary. It's a one-of-a-kind binder that you cannot get anywhere else. Yeah, this binder deserves a spot in my display case.

HK Metal Binder with notes included

These small figures are another spazz worthy souvenirs that cannot be passed up.

They are cute.
They are precious.
They are adorably futuristic.
They are innovative designed.
THEY ARE OUR TREASURES.

Thank you, Sanrio.

Hello Kitty Go Around Figurines

If you've heard about Hello Kitty Con, then you must have heard about China's Hello Kitty Go Around carnival event.

Well, naturally if you are a serious Hello Kitty collector-- then you all know all sorts of tidbits that a casual Sanrio consumer wouldn't know...

Pic Provided by IG

"They are made from Polyurethane or PU and will break if it falls ! Only 200 each design were made exclusively for hello kitty go around event , it is NOT numbered"
- HelloKittyTreasure

In every collection, you will find that there are special collectibles that you know -- and, I emphasize -- you *know* what makes your collection stand out. These two figurines are those special treasures that you can't resist from clutching in sheer joy.

Yes, I was that lucky lil' collector who got to own these special pair of figurines. Take a moment while I describe my story as I opened my precious package:

(Warning: excuse my slight exaggeration)
With heavy breathing from excitement, my trembling hands cut away the strips of many tape surrounding the package. It was like a slasher movie. My excitement over finally getting my hands on these babies were driving me crazy because the box seemed difficult to open. You definitely get your money's worth because HelloKittyTreasure packed it very securely. Thank you, Mai! Even with a sharp weapon in my hands (TIP: everyone who is a relative/friend of a Sanrio collector, avoid us when we're opening a Sanrio package), I gave up trying to be reasonable with the box. My patience had run out. With so much energy coming out of nowhere, I teared into that tightly wrapped package. I was panting by the time I had ripped open the box.

My brother came into the room and found me on my knees clutching the two figurines in each arm. I had been spazzing out of sheer joy for the last minute or two. Prior to that, I had been dancing the geeky-joyful-dance. Don't ask. It's embarrassing enough to admit it on this blog.

These two figurines are now stacked on top of piles of messy Sanrio stuff on my desk. They're all waiting for me to get to them and pack them away in my temporary Sanrio storage room.

Christmas Gifts

All month I have been listening to Christmas songs on my local radio station 103.5 as a recent tradition that I have taken for the last few years. By listening to these holiday songs, it has put me in a holly jolly festive mood.

As Christmas draws closer, I have been getting all the special X-mas gifts that I wanted...

Christmas Plushes

Nao Porcelain Figurines

This Christmas, I wanted something that wasn't any ordinary type of gift. I was searching for something special and these gifts above filled all my requirements.

If you were giving a plush or doll for Christmas...
The doll has to be of a large type size and cannot be small like 10 inches. Large type of gifts usually gives an impression that someone has spent a lot of money on you. It says a lot about how valuable you are to the person giving you the gift.

Another thing about the plush is that it is Christmas themed. It's a special seasonal gift that you won't be able to find during the year. Unless you are a Collector yourself or a relative of a Collector, then the average consumer wouldn't know what was selling these past several holidays.

Lastly, *THE* Gift...
It is true what they say about the more expensive the gift, the more special it is to the individual collector. Sure, it's not the same for everyone. Although, not everyone is a collector. As a collector, my collection is all about the materialistic things.

My porcelain figurines did cost me a pretty penny, but it's all worth it in my world. Yes, the money spent on all my collection won't keep me warm at night or fill my tummy-- but all that I have, I am proud of something that gives me passion in life.

I have something to care about other than my family and life. My collection tells a story about me. I can choose a special toy or figurine and be able to tell you why it's so special to me or how it has come into my collection. Stories after stories to tell because this is my life and my very special world that I get to share here on my blog.

This jolly season, I'd like to give thanks to all my readers who have followed my journey in the magical world of Sanrio. Thank you for visiting and sharing my love for all things kawaii.

XOXO,

Lynnie
